WHAT IS MATURITY?

At my younger age, all my thoughts about maturity were that it is about age and physical development, but oops! I was incredibly wrong. In recent years, I have grown to find out that age is only but a number, what maturity entails is far beyond age, size, or physical development as many would have defined it.

But the questions that are popularly asked about maturity are; what is maturity? What is the best definition of maturity? What are the signs of maturity? How to become responsible. Does maturity depend on age? Some even ask at what age maturity comes?.

Sometimes we cannot really say that there is a particular meaning of maturity. Maturity comes with different definitions and perspectives from a different points of view of different people. 

Why is Maturity Important?

Over the years, there has been some curiosity over the Importance of Maturity. Questions have been asked severally about the Essence of Maturity, Does Maturity Come With Experience? Before I continue let me ask you, Do We Need Maturity?

Maturity is important because maturity improves the ability to make good decisions. When you start making good decisions, you begin to have stability in your overall life. Maturity also makes you have independent decisions. Gone are those days when you ask people to make decisions for you all because you are scared of committing blunders in your decision.

  • Run away from negativity - Positivity will give you a great push and help you get through difficult situations and overcome different life obstacles that come your way. 
  • Be sacrificial in your doings - Being mature is being sacrificial, making sacrifices for the good of other people, make sacrifices for the sake of your future without resentment. This shows your level of maturity. 
  • Give back to others your time, knowledge, or effort. This shows that you have attained a level where you can shift focus from yourself to others.
